Mobility Aids

Within a few months of opening the pool we realised that it can be quite difficult to obtain the basic aids that many older and immobile dogs need to make life a little easier.

The "Pet Step" car access ramps are a perfect example. Many of our customers were struggling with home made timber ramps, and those that had found commercially available ramps from mail order/internet organisations have been largely un-impressed by the quality of the ramps that arrived.

The pet step is very well made, exceptionally strong, safe, hygienic, and folds quickly and easily for storage within the car. These come all the way from the United States, if we find a "home grown" product that comes anywhere near the quality..we will happily stock it!

We keep demonstration ramps at the Hydrotherapy Centre. You are welcome to come and try a ramp, or borrow one for a few days to see if your dog will take to the idea.
Support Harness & Emergency Support Leads
The Support Harness is designed to help dogs with mobility problems to go for short walks, negotiate steps etc. The owner is able to take some of the weight/pressure off the effected legs while lifting in the correct position. Made of soft suede leather, the harnesses are available in various sizes, and three different designs to allow support of front legs, rear legs (as shown) or a full body harness. Prices range from £25 to £35 depending on requirements. The Emergency Support Lead is an everyday lead that converts to a lifting harness for the front or rear legs. This helps an owner to aid a distressed, infirm or unsteady dog, and means you can confidently take the dog for a short walk, knowing you can get home if the dog starts to struggle. We use one of these for Cooper, our elderly and very large German Shepherd/Golden Retriever cross, he hasn't needed it yet, and hopefully will not for a while..but its there just in case!
